Cory Bensen, 27, has remained in the Bergen County Jail since authorities arrested him in February in connection with the accused rape of a victim under 13.
Bensen, who is engaged, was fired as a state Department of Transportation highway operations technician soon after, authorities said.

He and his fiance had also worked together with the River Edge Fire Department.
Bergen County prosecutor’s detectives served Bensen with a new complaint at the jail in April alleging a similar assault on another pre-teen.

The more recent charge, along with a detainer, were filed by New Jersey State Police.
An investigation into the original charges prompted detectives to contact a former colleague of Benson’s when he was a member of the Blue Ridge Rescue Squad, the New Jersey Herald said court records show.
The squad serves Branchville, Frankford, Sandyston, Walpack and Montague.
The alleged victim reportedly told investigators that Bensen had sexually assaulted her in 2012 at what was then his home.
